A Chinese citizen was detained on 11th May 2017 at the Caia border in Elvas, in possession of 266,000 euros in cash, after the GNR announced the arrest of two other Chinese citizens holding 480,000 euros.
A citizen of Chinese nationality was detained by the GNR in possession of 266 thousand euros and the vehicle in which he was driving was seized during the control of the border of Caia that takes place under the “Operation White Frontier”.
At the same site, the GNR had announced the arrest of two other Chinese men, aged 35 and 36, for the alleged crime of money laundering, having in their possession “about 480 thousand euros, in banknotes of 50, 100 and 500 euros “, which were also seized.
