Urban cleaning personnel to clear rain gutters
As a result of weather warnings on Tuesday, the Municipality of Funchal cancelled all scheduled urban cleaning work, and sent all the relevant employees to clear rain gutters across Funchal. It is hoped this will help prevent flooding across the city.
More than 12,000 grams of psychoactive substances apprehended by the PSP
The PSP (Public Security Police) has so far apprehended more than 12,000 grams of psychoactive substances, and opened 97 investigations related to the trafficking and consumption of such substances.
TAP cabin crew strike
TAP cabin crew will go on strike on December 8th and 9th. As a result, hundreds of TAP flights have been cancelled. However, a court ruled that TAP must operate at least 2 daily return flights to the Autonomous Region of Madeira during the days when the strike will take place.
New flight routes to Madeira
Wizz Air started operated flights between Funchal and Vienna airports on December 3rd. It will operate a weekly flight during the Winter season.
easyJet started operating flights between Funchal Airport and Milan-Malpensa Airport on December 4th. This will provide tourists from Italy with another option when flying to Madeira. It is scheduled to operate 2 weekly flights, on Sundays and Mondays.

Water supply disruption in São Roque
The Municipality of Funchal informed there will be a water supply disruption on Friday, November 9th, from 09h00 to 12h00, as a result of scheduled work on the water supply network in the São Roque area. A full list of all the areas affected is available on the following website:
