The Police Division of Machico is one of the three Territorial Divisions that comprises the Regional Command of Madeira of the Police of Public Security. It exerts its competences in the Municipalities of Santa Cruz, Machico, Santana and island of Porto Santo. The Division is based at the airport facilities of Madeira
The division has a low crime rate and, violent and serious crime is practically nonexistent, so that the men and women of the PSP that compose it, manage to promote a high degree of security to the populations of these four Counties. There is a close proximity of the Police to the population, who believe in “their Police”.
The geographical area of the Division has very attractive features for contacts with nature, reason why it is sought by many tourists, national and foreign, reason why the Police take special attention to all areas and tourist circuits.

Despite the widely dispersed area and varying topography between the Precincts that make up the division, there is a high and permanent proximity between the precincts and between the police, which greatly facilitates the service provided to the community.
We are privileged in providing security to the most vulnerable and unprotected and we pay special attention to those who visit us, by promoting and giving everyone a sense of security.
