On 30th August 2016 the Metropolitan Command PSP Lisbon, through the Division of PSP Cascais, following an investigation related to the commission of thefts in homes, arrested two men and a woman, aged between 38 and 41 years, as they prepared to leave a house that they had just burgled.
Upon being intercepted by the PSP the suspects were found with all objects stolen from that residence, including gold pieces, a laptop, an Mp3, a pen, a pair of cufflinks and two walkie-talkies. They were seized and have an estimated value of 3790 Euros.
After the search of the vehicle interior in which the suspects were to load and transport the stolen items, the PSP also discovered a digital camera, several clocks, Euros 1,110.00 in cash, gloves, screwdrivers and several changes of clothing. These were seized by the PSP as they are suspected to be related to the crime under investigation.
Following the procedural steps related to the arrests of the suspects, three house searches were undertaken in Lisbon, where 5,100.00 Euros as well as several articles of jewellery and high-end watches, suspected to be from several burglaries from residents were seized. Some pieces of jewellery have been recognized by their owners, who had filed a complaint for theft.
The detainees will be brought before the Court of West Lisbon – Cascais, for the first judicial questioning and application of the respective enforcement measures.
The Public Security Police asks the cooperation of victims of thefts in residences that occurred during the summer season in the municipalities of Cascais and Oeiras, to visit the premises of the PSP Criminal Investigation Unit Cascais, in order to identify any objects which have been stolen.
