Covid-19 update

There were no new Covid-19 cases today. The number of cases remains at 90. Two more patients, from the municipalities of Ponta do Sol and Câmara de Lobos, have recovered. There are now 85 recoveries and 5 active cases.

There are 376 people under active monitoring and 277 people in self-monitoring. As of yesterday, there had been 1,543 suspected cases, 1,453 of which had come back negative.

As for Covid-19 testing, 17,188 samples from 15,634 people have been analysed at Laboratório de Patologia Clínica do SESARAM (Madeira Health Service lab).

The SRS 24 helpline (Regional Health Service – 800 24 24 20) received 14 calls from Saturday to Sunday, bringing the total number of calls to 8,321.

The Covid-19 mental health helpline (219 212 399 – available every day from 9h00 to 21h00) that was set up to provide emotional and mental support to Madeira residents has received 1,189 calls, with 136 people being monitored.

Health Centres reopening today

The following health centres are resuming in person activity today, with Accident and Emergency Services having the following timetable:

Weekdays from 8h00 to 20h00 – Centro de Saúde de São Vicente; Centro de Saúde do Porto Moniz; Centro de Saúde de Santana

24h a day – Centro de Saúde de Machico (preferably for the
Municipalities of Machico, Santa Cruz and Santana; Centro de Saúde da Ribeira Brava (preferably for the Municipalities of Câmara de Lobos, Ribeira Brava, Ponta do Sol, Calheta, São Vicente, Porto Moniz; Centro de Saúde de Porto Santo

Those registered in the Municipality of Funchal can use any of these health centres, as an alternative to the A&E from Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

There has been an increase in the appointment period of primary health care in the following places:

Bom Jesus – telephone medical appointment from 8h to 14h (969377014) & in person medical and nursing appointments from 14h00 to 19h00

São Roque e Monte – in person medical and nursing appointment (in São Roque from 8h00 to 20h00 & Monte from 8h00 to 17h00)

Santo António – telephone medical appointment from 9h to 17h (966735638) & in-person medical and nursing appointments from 9h00 to 13h00 & 14h00 to 18h00

Nazaré (Dr. Rui Adriano) – telephone medical appointment from 9h00 to 12h00 and 14h00 to 17h00 (969376991) & in person medical and nursing appointments from 9h00 to 13h00 & 14h00 to 18h00

Câmara de Lobos – in person medical and nursing appointment from 9h00 to 13h00

Prazeres – in person medical and nursing appointment from 9h00 to 13h00

These new appointments are an option for patients with acute diseases, worsening chronic diseases and who do not need to go to an Accident & Emergency centre or the A&E unit at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

In person appointments have also been restored for Psychology, Nutrition, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Social Service.
