Covid.19: Municipality of VRSA prolongs the use of a mask on the street
Given the epidemiological evolution of Covid-19 in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, and with the aim of minimizing the chances of contagion, the municipality will extend, until the end of the month, the application of a set of more restrictive isolation measures and protection of the population.
In a statement, the City Council says it seeks to develop “concrete” actions to halt the spread of the new coronavirus, seeking to keep the majority of trade and services in operation, “but in a regulated and safe manner”.
The exception is the gradual opening of municipal sports facilities, starting on October 16th, namely the municipal swimming pools, which will operate only by appointment (via phone and e-mail) and with limited capacity.
To make this possible, all sports facilities have a set of procedures and contingency plans, in order to ensure the protection and safety of visitors and employees.
According to the Municipality, the following restrictive measures will remain in force: the suspension of all cultural events held in municipal facilities, recommendation for the use of an individual protection mask in all situations of contact with other people, including on the street, warnings of the prohibition of private parties, under the terms already provided by the General Health Directorate (DGS), and reinforced inspection.
