We were established in 1996, making us one of Europe’s oldest foreign exchange specialists. We’ve grown significantly over the years and now have 25+ global offices. We employ over 500 currency experts and process more than £11bn in international payments a year.

Rubem Galvao – Regional Sales Manager.
Rubem is Brazilian/Portuguese, speaks several languages, and has been in Portugal for more than 20 years working in Finance Services helping businesses to grow. Rubem is certified in Anti Money laundering and Data Protection.
He has been with Currencies Direct since the end of 2022, and his natural informative pitch skills, allied with a well-organized Operational Setup has helped Currencies Direct to develop and transform its business approach not only to the Algarve market, but also to the entire country of Portugal.
By implementing a new long-term strategy of proximity between Affiliates and Customers with several new Portuguese Branches, covering the East & West of the Algarve with an office in Tavira and another in Lagos, headquartered from Albufeira, there´s a new team of staff members eager to help and guide you through currency transfers. The capital Lisbon, also prides itself by this closeness motto, serving the network with a new office at the Expo area. The expansion will continue with an office in Porto, scheduled to open until the end of 2023.
